This is a paperback with the first book on one side and the second book upside down on the other side. The first book is 49 pages, and the second book has 55. Both books have captivating cover illustrations with action-packed black and white illustrations by the same artist throughout the book.
 
The book is in very good condition but has shelf wear, and the paper used has yellowed with age. A difficult book to aquire in this format.

"Humans have colonized a planet called Ziax II which is populated by native inhabitants called the Imbur. At first the humans misunderstand the Imbur and believe them to be hostile until the commander's son Toren is rescued by the Imbur and lives with them for a while. The Imbur are a peaceful race who deplore killing and have a special non-violent chant to subdue giant predators called the Sork. Humans and Imbur form an uneasy alliance and must learn to work together when a mysterious drought threatens to kill the entire planet. This is a good sci-fi/adventure story that teaches great lessons about nonviolence and environmental stewardship."
