The third instalment of the Grail Quest series sees the reader re-inhabit the body of Pip so that he can seal the gate to the Ghastly Kingdom of the Dead at the bequest of Merlin. This is the gateway that the brass Dragon came through to assault the land of Avalon. As such this is a direct sequel to the previous book, ‘The Den of Dragons’. Story wise it does seem a little peculiar that such a task wasn’t done straight after the Brass Dragon’s demise. It seems as if Merlin has waited unnecessarily for things to become worse before doing anything about it (or, at least, getting you to do anything about it).
