1986 Corgi J34 Rover 3500

1986 Corgi J34 Rover 3500- This  model  was available from 1980 to 1987. This 1986 example is brand new old stock in its original box. The box has some shelf wear. It also has a metal base which was a rarer feature in the 80's juniors releases.
 
The Rover 3500 (commonly known as the SD1) was seen as very modern, if not futuristic at its launch in 1976, so it is little surprise that this stylish car with a V8 engine was chosen by several toy manufacturers. The Corgi Juniors model is much more realistic in proportion than some of the competitiors, and was available in a wide range of colours, including racing liveries representing the success that the car had as a touring car and in other categories. The model was also adapted, by fitting a light bar to the roof, into a police car, with Corgi also modelling the SD1 at 1:36 scale. Despite still being a current model through until 1987, the Juniors saloon was less frequently reissued after 1983 than many of its contemporaries.
